Families In Nz Or Australia Who Enjoy Biking Should Check Out This New Child Bike Seat

Living in Australia me and my family like to take advantage of the weather and go biking as often as possible. We have two children aged 9 and 2 and whilst our 9 year old is happy riding her own bike we were having problems finding the right child bike seat for our youngest daughter.
My husband was using a traditional rear seat for our daughter but this meant that it was hard to keep an eye on her unless I cycled behind him - something which isn't much fun when you are out as a family. I was tired of having to hang back every few minutes just to check on our youngest and needed a solution which would allow us to bike next to each other.

The SafeTSeat is designed to be mounted to the front of the adult's bike, behind the handle bars, with the child's legs on either side of them. To protect the child's legs when they are in the child bike seat the leg sections of the seat are made from moulded plastic which is tough and resilient.
Unlike many of the child bike seats that I have come across the SafeTSeat is easy to mount and remove so the adult rider can easily switch from carrying a child to riding alone. Previous to this my husband found it too much of a hassle to remove and re-mount our previous child's seat so he left it on which he wasn't too pleased about.
One of my only concerns about this child bike seat was that it could cause the adult rider to be unsteady as it is front mounted - but I was just being over cautious. There is no change in the adult's centre of gravity when they use the SafeTSeat and riding is just as easy.
In addition to the child bike seat being practical and functional it also gives our son the chance to see everything that we do - no more staring at his dad's back. We can all chat together and enjoy the scenery as a family and our son loves his new seat.
Now every time we go biking we use the SafeTSeat and I can safely say that I would never opt for another style of child's bike seat again. It is practical, fun and most of all safe.
