Faux Fur: The Luxury Rugs Without The Animals!

I eat meat every day but I also love animals and would do anything to save them from being converted into rugs or clothes. That is why I have loved the concept of faux furs and besides nobody can tell the difference! Earlier faux fur was associated with the lower classes who could not buy the real thing. It was often thought of as shoddy and cheap and easily distinguishable from the real thing. Today, many love faux fur simply because it means no animal has been raised to be killed for fashion.

Due to advancement in husbandry worldwide, a large number of machining and hide curing processes are easily followed which allow an after-market of decorative and functional rugs out of domesticated animal hides.Faux fur or fake fur rugs are luxurious soft feel fur rugs made without the use of animal products. These are 100 % synthetic non-animal fibers with non-skid backings. That isn’t all, your faux fur rug is usually machine washable, easy care and can be used in any room of the house. These can be bought in freeform animal shapes, rounds and rectangles.

Faux fur rugs come in various colors and patterns. You can find them in zebra, chinchilla, lamb, brown bear, lynx, leopard, arctic fox, raccoon and cow patterns. Even the unusual beaver, tiger, lion, giraffe, wolf, coyote, rabbit, pink cheetah or blue zebra are available at leading deign outlets! These are available as rugs, throws, pillow covers, bedspreads, comforters, stoles, teddy bears. They could be bought as faux fur coats, stoles, hats and purses too. Online stores sell faux fur by the yard in all colors and patterns for your own sewing project and even help you in such projects; what more could you ask for?

Faux fur is so generously thick and luxuriously soft, they can pass as real fur rugs any day! And whether you are a carnivore or not, you can do your bit for the animals by using these fake furs. Use them as a rug near your fireplace or simply throw it on the sofa and see it turning into a conversation starter! The best faux fur is made with acrylic fibers. They can be easily dyed to represent the desired patterns and colors of real animals. The Japanese Kiwami fur for instance is made of Kanekaron Modacrylic fibre which is fire-resistant and is almost like the real thing.

You could use some real fun rugs for your reading room. Take the polar bear rug for instance, its luxurious furry white rug adds warmth and elegance; and the rich suede finish on the underside is sure to please you. Today, there are so many options to keep warm and look stylish with the look of fur which are cheaper, better and do not involve the killing of animals. You can find them at a store near you, online stores and guess what even your favorite designer is using them to do up your home and you!
