Feet For Sport

As a sportsperson, your most valuable piece of equipment could be your feet. The forces going through them can sometimes be equivalent to seven times your body weight, so it’s no surprise that they can sometimes malfunction. If you have a pain in your feet, it will need treating as soon as possible. If it isn’t, it could stop you participating in your sport. Even if you aren’t getting any pain at the moment, the wear on the sole of your shoe could be an indicator of an underlying problem.

Check your shoes

We wear shoes every day, so they give us clues as to how our feet work when we are walking.

The Solution

All sports require you to be mechanically efficient. If you are experiencing pain or injury, your body is being used in a wrong way. Getting your walking and running assessed by a Podiatrist is vital in resolving an injury. Exercises and Orthotics can change the function of the leg and foot, resolving the injury. Although suitable footwear is an essential part of maintaining good foot posture, they often do not provide the correct support in the correct position.

Good footwear coupled with an Orthotic will help to keep your body working efficiently, enabling you to continue with your sport as long as possible.

Don’t put off your foot problem; get it seen to as soon as possible by a Podiatrist.
