Fernando Alonso Monaco Grand Prix Winner

He was the leader during the whole competition, except for the two times he had to change tires, followed very closely by his teammate Lewis Hamilton who finished just 4 seconds after Alonso.

In the standings for this year’s Grand Prix Championship Alonso and Hamilton have 38 points each, which means a total of 76 for Vodafonte McLaren Mercedes achieving the leadership in the Constructor’s Championship once again.

But not everything is cause for celebration, British press started speculations about the results from this race, insinuating that Hamilton had orders from his team advisors to avoid obstructing his teammate Fernando Alonso and as result the International Automobile Federation (FIA) decided to investigate McLaren-Mercedes team due to the possibility that they breached the International Sports Code Ruling.

This kind of orders are forbidden in Formula 1 as of 2002 when the Ferrari team asked Rubens Barrichello to let Schumacher win the Grand Prix in Austria.

Due to this situation, Ron Dennis, McLaren’s team manager denies any kind of interference and he assures that they only followed a strategy to win.
