On the whole the fiberglass swimming pools are much easier to keep clean and sanitary.

These pools of fiberglass can be made at the factory so that these pools come ready to be dropped in and installed into the ground. Lets talk texture a bit. If a pool is rough in texture it can allow algae to have a good place to cling to. Fiberglass pools do not have this type of texture instead they are quite the reverse. As time goes on pools made from vinyl or concrete can develop problems. Concrete cracks during the aging process. Vinyl liners wear out. The way fiberglass stands up over the year is outstanding. Fiberglass does not break easily also with it having the smooth texture the algae does not like to grow on it. This dramatically cuts down on trying to clean the algae off the pool and pother cleaning also. Fiberglass makes the pool for maintenance free.

Where earthquakes occur fiberglass swimming pools are an ideal choice. They can move with the ground instead of breaking and or cracking. They do not have problems with tree roots as vinyl liners do in pools. Places such as California should not use concrete as a choice for pools with all their earthquakes.

Your hands are tied when it comes to some design features though with fiberglass. Since it comes in premade shapes you can only use those shapes. So if you have a real wacky idea for a shape of a pool concrete would have to be your choice. Also vinyl line pools can offer a bit more shapes too. Your first design decision will have to be the kind of shaping you want your pool to have.

Fiberglass swimming pools are not good in real cold climates. You have to keep them partially filled with water at all times and in real cold climates you cannot do this. So in states like Michigan you may need to use concrete of the vinyl liners for pools. Check with your local pool store to know which to use.

Think about where you want your pool to be installed. Is it convenient to getting to a restroom in your house? Are you taking into consideration the size of your yard compared to the size of your pool? If you are on septic are you placing your pool right in relationship to it? All of these things will be important questions to answer.

Go to your local nursery or plant store and find out which plants you can landscape with. Chlorine can kill some delicate plants so you want the ones that are more durable. There are many ways you can decorate around your pool and plenty of the ideas you may get are available on the Internet. Look at several pictures of ideas until you formulate you own plan.
