Filling Those Hours In The Sky With Entertaining Distractions

Nothing is quite as daunting as facing a long flight and realizing that you didn't bring anything along to help pass time. Sitting in your seat for hours on end is nearly never an option and can make the journey feel considerably longer than it actually is. Of course you can always kick your seat back a couple of inches and stretch out for a relaxing and refreshing nap

This would work in theory and even without being able to lean the seat back too far, most people could get a little sleep in necessary, but with the distractions of a plane full of people, it is more difficult than it should be. You have the kid kicking your set behind you, you have the talkative guy next to you and you have the couple across the aisle that talk just a little too loud because they think that everything they have to say is so interesting that the rest of the plane needs to hear it.

These distractions are all enough to drive any person to the verge of madness in any normal situation, but compound this with being stuck on an airplane for a long time and you have a recipe for disaster. It's in all probability a good thing that you are able to have an alcoholic drink on most flights, simply to relieve the tension. Just keep it in moderation and there will be no need to get the Sky Marshall involved.

Looking at all the technology available nowadays, there's no lack of ideas and suggestions for filling those empty hours flying across vast amounts of open water or land. The nice thing about today's technology is that several of the devices aren't singular in purpose and their ability to multi-task allows the user to carry fewer devices and allows one device to do almost anything that you would want to do on a aircraft.

Other than being able to stretch out on your own couch and watch a ballgame of course. But you could bring the television along with you on a mobile device such as a tablet or laptop or even on your phone if you don't mind watching a tiny screen for hours on end. The nicest thing about it though is that it provides you with an excuse to put on headphones and in that way you distract talkative fellow passengers form talking to you too much.
