Find Lip Art In A Jar

There are many ins and outs in the personal care industry. It's not all lotions and anti-aging creams. A week ago I was in the dark, but now I know. Meet the next generation of cosmetics, lip tattoos in a jar. Unbelievable, right? Far from it, read about Violent Lips and their wide collection of temporary lip tattoos.

I first learned about Violent Lips in the November issue of GCI Magazine. I was struck by the oddity of their product as first glance. But once I explored the myriad of colorful designs, made ready for display on the lips of another, I saw the products as works of art. Browse through a few of their collections below and check them out for yourself.

The Glitteratti line promises that all eyes will be on you. Glitter based temporary lip tattoos are available in a variety of colors including: silver, gold, red, crimson, hot pink, pale pink and blue. You never know if you don't try it. Next time you're headed downtown bring a jar full of Glitteratti tattoos and shine the competition away.

Everyone knows cheetah and leopard prints are in. That is, for certain articles of clothing or for hand bags. I'm not quite sure I would ever purchase a leopard print lipstick, let alone tattoo my lips after the pattern, even if it's only for an evening. For all of the brave souls who disagree with me, Violent Lips promotes two separate animal print lines.

The Fishnet collection blows my mind. I get the allure of fishnet stockings. They're different, out of the ordinary and appealing in that sense. But translating a pattern from one's legs to their lips is a bit of a leap, even for my far-fetched imagination. What's next, are we going to start wearing jeans on our lips? Too late, apparently we already are, check out Violent Lips' Denim line in a jar.

The polka dot collection is pretty adorable, I must say. In pink, red, coral and purple, the standout colors will make a statement to start with; the white polka dots will only enhance the already bold lip statement. Who knew a jar could hold this much color?

The Patriotic collection is the Violent Lips line that made the biggest impression on me. Who hasn't dreamed of wearing a flag on their lips? Whether you're repping your home country, a place you'd like to visit or are using the look as a political tool to support or oppose a given international situation, this jar of tats is perfect for all sorts of occasions.

I've never so much as pondered the idea of getting a tattoo. Personal reasons aside (I couldn't bear to imagine my pure and innocent, angel-like skin being tainted with ink, coming from a needle, of which who knows where it's been), I don't think I have the right kind of moxie to pull it off. Yet, as pointless as it seems, by trying on a pair of Violent Lips myself, I would not only be reviewing the product, but also expanding my personal care horizons. It's a win-win. Glitteratti, Cheetah, Leopard, Fishnet, Polka or Patriotic? Which should it be?
