Finding Readers For Your Blog

It is all well and good to sign up at some of the larger social network sites and start up a blog, but how do you find Readers for a blog? Please remember though the following suggestions are by no means comprehensive or applicable to every single blog however it is a starting point to get you going in quest to tackle the challenge of finding readers for your blog.

You can start with your current network, keep in mind though that I’m talking about businesses blogging here. One of the best places to start off with finding readers for your business blog is to start with the people you know. The ones that your business is already in contact with any business will already have some kind of network, which will include some or all of the following employees, previous and current customers/clients, industry groups, suppliers, and mailing lists these are just a few of the possibilities you may have more.

There is a greyer area you can use here where I would not use this motto so to speak in any other area and that is quantity can outweigh quality when it comes to signing people up as friends. Where if you sign someone up to your network that is not really all that interested in business like where it is a spouse who signs up or a friend of a friend fro example. They can still be of use when it comes to the people that they know who are interested and would not have had the opportunity to see you otherwise.

By using the people you already know and are in contact with is a great place to start when you are looking to start up a business blog of your own. If these people sign up to your blog and/or business based social network it stands to reason that they have like minded people that are a part of their networks and you can, with the right tact, ask them to see if they would be interested in inviting their friends and business contacts to your blog and social network.

Some of these social sites also provide a list of friends of friends and some even go as far as asking these mutual friends if they would like to join up to another persons network automatically. Every one of the social networking and blog sites I have encountered promote the growth of networks it almost seems like they are doing this to get into the Guinness Book of Records or something for largest social network.

Also, get those you are in any type of relationship with aware of your blog. These are the people who know you and at the same time hopefully like and trust you but not in direct contact with your business like the friends at the bar or gym for example, they can get the ball rolling in terms of helping generate some more potential subscribers.
