Finding Time To Live, To Love And To Achieve

How often have you said, "Where did the time go?"

Time flies when you are having fun or extremely busy, look at the clock once and by the time you look a second time hours have past. On the other hand, when you need time to move quickly it seems to drag on and on and on. There are some things you can do right now to get control of your time and create enough for everyone and everything important to you.

Follow these time miser steps and you will find the time to live your life to the fullest, as well as gaining quality time for those important to you.

1.Plan your day. Not just your work day but your entire day. Allow the plan to be flexible but follow it. How many times have you gotten on the internet and surfed for hours? Or sat down to watch a favorite TV show and then watched TV for several more hours? Then once you realized what you have done you remember something important you wanted to get finished?
2.Pull out your plan at the start of the day. Review it, prepare for what you have written. Distribute your activities as evenly as possible throughout the day.
3.Keep your plan with you all day. It will help remind you of your tasks and commitments.
4.Review the plan at the days end. If needed reschedule those tasks you did not get accomplished today.Set up the plan for tomorrow before you retire for the night. This will start tomorrow off on the right foot.

What should you include in the plan? EVERYTHING!! Below is a typical day in my planner.

• 500am- Get up & get ready for work.
• 530am- breakfast with Melisa (my wife)
• 600am- drive to work (while driving I am listening to motivational CDs)
• 645am- arrive at work
• 645am to 500pm- I work in the restaurant industry and have certain tasks I must complete based on the day of week. I list those here as well and mark the ones that are most important.
• 500pm to 545pm- drive home (again listening to uplifting CDs)
• 545pm to 630pm- family dinner time
• 630pm to 800pm time for the children (home work, play time, etc)
• 800pm to 1000pm time for my wife (what we do may vary)
• 10pm- review my plan from today and make tomorrow's plan.
• 1015pm- read
• 1100pm- lights out.

The specifics may vary however the plan is there everyday. Remember when you are driving to work and at work you are thinking about work. When you are driving home and at home you are thinking about home. You must be present where ever your are to give that part of your life the full attention it deserves.
Here are some of the benefits you will gain by planning your time.

•You will get more family time, more social time, more play time by scheduling what and when you will do something.
•You will get more done at work.
•Your quality of family life will improve.
•Your social life will also improve because you will have more time to schedule it.
•You will have more time for your goals and accomplish more without as much effort.

Just make a plan, work the plan and then make another one. Repeat the entire process everyday and you will see more quality time in all aspects of your life. As Zig Ziglar says "Live your day by the clock and your life with a vision."
