Finding A Success Formula For Yourself

Because a very high percentage (around 97%) of people fail after embarking on a home based business such as network marketing (MLM or multi-level marketing), it is difficult but there is still hope in this industry. People join MLM programs everyday because the potential is there for huge monetary success with a relatively small investment of cash. Millionaires are regularly being made in MLM businesses.

In order to succeed in network marketing, it does take an inordinate amount of hard work and dedication. Some of the people in the upline (those in a line directly above the person) of a new distributor, member, or consultant as they may be called, promise to help with the business. It is supposed to be people helping people.

While the company may provide weekly conference calls for recruitment and training and may have training aids available, in the end it is a matter of finding a success formula for yourself to make any business work. Developing leadership skills is necessary.

The network marketing industry is a people oriented business. There has to be some kind of interaction with others through direct marketing such as personal contact, phone calls, sales letters, or emails to introduce prospects to the business. No one will earn any money unless sales of the product or service are obtained.

A formula for success will entail learning certain new skill sets such as:

• Develop a business plan for your new endeavor
• Study and learn as much as possible about the company and product
• Set goals and write them down
• Believe in yourself and your ability to succeed
• Don’t let discouragement and rejection get to you
• Look at other leaders and do what they do
• Think about helping others
• Be honest and trustworthy in all you do
• Keep a positive mental attitude
• Think of yourself as a leader and develop the necessary skills to be one

One of the main things to do is to believe in yourself and don’t give up too soon. Sometimes a company or product is definitely not for you, and you may not find out until after you have joined them. Don’t be afraid to quit if you find that the company is disreputable and dishonest. Free yourself quickly if you find that they are untrustworthy.

If success means earning a little extra money each month or if it means making millions, the person needs to decide on a goal which is attainable. Successful people are those who work hard and stick with it. No matter what success means to you, it will help to have a plan or formula.
