Five Inexpensive Ways To Increase Home Security In North Carolina And Georgia

For many of us, the recession has had a negative impact in such different aspects of life. While income is slowing down, there is no stopping the surge in energy costs. By setting up some thorny bushes near the windows and doors of your house, you’ll give prowlers no option but to be seen or to be in pain. 2. Keep the expensive goods tucked away. If someone interested in robbing you happens to pass by, you don’t want to encourage them. Keep valuable automobiles stashed in the garage. As for nice furniture and expensive artwork, don’t showcase it to the street. Keep your blinds and shutters drawn in rooms like this, or keep them in the back or middle of the house. Simply keeping a low profile can go a long way in North Carolina. Your home alarm system can’t stop a reckless intruder who wants one object and is content to run afterwards.

3. Prove the existence of your valuables. Even a digital camera can take a good video these days. By recording a video of all your expensive merchandise, you can prove its existence later with the right records. Keep a copy of the tape (or video file) out of the house in case someone accidentally robs that, too.

4. Etch your identification into expensive goods. For valuable electronics, tools and equipment, etch your name and address into the objects themselves. If a thief tries to take them to the Georgia black market to sell, their value won’t be high. Thus, many will choose to leave such objects alone. It will cost you nothing to complete this step.

5. Ask your home security company for their signs and stickers. Maybe you declined beforehand, considering it a tacky addition to your home, but the thought that a home alarm system is waiting for them will send many potential burglars on a different mission.
