Daniel – Again, Daniel comes from the Hebrew language and literally means, “God is my judge.” In the Bible, Daniel was a Hebrew prophet who was forced to serve in the court of the King when Babylonian soldiers captured Jerusalem. 5. Peter – Peter has a Greek origin, and means “stone.” This name appears in the New Testament multiple times, but the main person who bore this name was one of the twelve disciples of Jesus. This name remained popular after Jesus’ death and was used extensively in England and Russia during this time. Today, it is one of the most popular male names among newborn children.
