Five Useful But Undercover Home Alarm Features

When you are looking for a home alarm system, you’ll find that in many cases, the top systems have similar components. 2. Multiple passwords. Home security companies don’t recommend passing out your main code to anyone. Housekeepers and other employees coming into the house can be given separate codes. The added benefit of this feature is you’ll always know who was in the house at what time if there is a question about anything. There is also the feature of a one-time, one day only code.

3. Open a window. Another way to handle employees around the house is by having the alarm adopt a grace period. Let’s say a housekeeper comes at ten and leaves at one on a daily basis. As long as you know there’s a very punctual person behind every cleared window on your alarm, you can handle their entrance and departure without having to use any extra codes.

4. Use the sounds for safety purposes. Having a door chime sound when doors get opened is a reassuring touch from your home security system. However, when you add it to the windows in your home, you can create that extra sense of security, knowing that if one of your children has opened a window, the sound will tell you to check it out. With small children opening windows, danger may be close at hand.

5. Remote alerts. These days, you probably aren’t surprised when you hear about alerts being sent to your cell phone or email for just about any service. Add your home alarm system to the list. If there is an alarm activation, you can have a text message sent to your phone so you can act. Check with your alarm provider, along with all these other options.
