When you have a flat stomach, it becomes easier to work on your abs. You are likely to develop a six pack faster if you have a flat belly. If you are overweight, you will need to get rid of the flab first. Your fat has accumulated over a period of time and therefore losing it may also take sometime. The amount of time you will take to get rid of the excess fat depends entirely on you. You will require dedication and commitment in respect to exercise and diet.


Cardiovascular exercises, abdominal exercises and yoga are some of the ways that you can use to get rid of the flab and develop a flat stomach. High intensity cardiovascular exercises such as cycling, running, swimming, squash and tennis can help to burn extra calories. These exercises help not only to reduce belly fat but also in the overall reduction of body fat. You should exercise for a period of 30 to minutes. This has to be done at least three times in a week.

Abdominal exercises are a must if you want to lose belly fat. These exercises include standard crunches, cross oblique crunches and leg raises. Other exercises include side bends and side twists. Abs workouts should last for 30 minutes. You should workout for between three to four times a week. Some yoga and breathing exercises can help to tighten your stomach muscles and lessen belly fat.

Lowering your calorie intake and maintaining a healthy diet are some of the fastest ways of achieving a flat stomach. You should avoid fatty foods such as pizzas, cheese, red, meat, ice creams and other fried foods. You should increase your fiber intake and drink plenty of water.
