In the southeastern region of the United States, bordering Alabama to the northwest and Georgia to the northeast is Florida's location. Florida's climate is mostly humid and subtropical, however on the south of Florida the climate is tropical. Florida is also known as the fourth most popular state in the United States of America.
Because of Florida's location which is not is near any tectonic plate boundaries, earthquakes are very rare, but not totally unknown. Even though a few storms have formed out of season, tropical cyclones pose a severe threat during hurricane season, lasting from June 1 to November 30. Florida is also the state with the most hurricane-prone within the U.S. either with subtropical or tropical water on three sides and lengthy coastline. The most likely period for a hurricane in Florida is from August to October.
Florida is considered host to many types of wildlife besides being a winter home for most species of eastern North American birds. Here are some species found in Florida State:
