Fly From Southampton With Flybe
The airport is actually situated on the outskirts of the city of Southampton, close to Eastleigh. It has a proud history and has recently seen quite a rapid rate of expansion. That expansion has gone hand in hand with Flybe increasing the number of scheduled flights to other destinations throughout the UK and Europe. There's also no doubt that the airport benefits from excellent transport links. Located just off the M27 motorway, it's in an ideal location for those driving from other locations throughout Hampshire, the Home Counties and the south coast. For those arriving by train there is the added bonus of Southampton Airport Parkway, a dedicated railway station on the mainline from Southampton to London Waterloo. Having arrived at the station platform, you'll find that it's little more than a two minute walk to the main airport terminal building. With prices low and access so impressive, it's not been surprising to see the growth of the airport. Almost 2 million passengers made use of Southampton Airport in 2007, with the vast majority of them making use of Flybe services. The airline run regular flights to Manchester, Newcastle and Scotland. It's also possible to take direct flights to a variety of airports in mainland Europe, with routes to France being particularly well served.
