Training for your personal pilots licence can be a difficult business. If you have to be worrying about the equipment that you have bought as well then it can make it even more tricky. Take you headphone for example, you need them to be the best quality ones but not too expensive and able to handle everything that you need them for. You can ask lots of people and read loads of reviews but because you are a novice then you may not be able to make a good informed decision. You need something which not only suits you and your budget but that is suitable for the job that you need it to do.

It is worthwhile asking your instructor what they recommend as they are likely to know what is best. For you as a beginner and also what they find to offer the best value for money. They should know what they are talking about, especially if they have been flying for a long time. However, you may find that their recommendation is too expensive or that you have always had you heart set on a certain brand such as Avcomm aviation and therefore you want to choose something different to what they have recommended.

It can be tedious to read reviews and learn all about different products, but if you want a good quality one then you do need to shop around a bit. It is worth asking around first as personal recommendations tend to be the best ones to get. However, you need to bear in mind that your requirements may not be the same as someone else's and if they recommend the Avcomm 200 for example, it may be because they like something about them that you dislike or that they need feature that you do not want. It may also be that they have not had the item for long enough to have given it a proper test and it may not last as long as you would have wanted. So make sure that you read the product details and a few reviews before you go out and buy the Avcomm ac200 and then you will avoid being disappointed with your purchase. Also check with your instructor that it is a good one, as even if you do not choose what they have recommended it is likely that they will know about the different types and brands and still be able to help you with your purchase.
