Purchasing an airline ticket is a lot like buying a movie ticket. You are just one of a large group all trying to do the same thing. You are crowded into a tiny space, strap in and hope for the best. You don't really have control over who sits next to you or in front of you or whether or not the projector is working appropriately. You can't even control what brand of soda they are selling at the concession stand.

To say it another way, because you are just a number and your ticket only affords you the means to get from point A to point B, the airlines have you in their grasp and there really isn't anything you can do about it. Now, conversely, if you wait for the movie to release on DVD or Blu-ray, you can bring it home and watch it in the privacy of your own living room, on your high quality screen and with a kicking surround sound.

You don't even have to include anybody else to watch the movie with you. And anytime you want, you can go into the kitchen and get yourself just what you want to eat and drink without having to fight your way through the lines and crowds. This is how the differences between flying commercially and on a private jet equate also. One is filled with factors that most people would rather not deal with, lines, crowds and unpredictability, and the other caters to your every need and desire.

Of course there are a few other things that separate the two, but for the most part, one is better than the other and if you have the ability to choose, it really isn't much of a choice at all. There is a reason private jets are the preferred method of travel for a certain class of individuals, the privacy alone is worth the price of admission. But beyond just the privacy, which is a big deal, there are other good reasons to choose a private flight over a commercial flight.

Convenience is going to come in a close second to privacy because of all of the mundane steps that flying this way eliminates. You don't have to show up at the airport hours early and you don't have to worry about chasing down your luggage. No more standing in endless lines to show some security guard the inside of your shoes.
