Foods That Can Actually Bring On A Stroke

Nothing could be more true than the fact that what we eat does have a huge impact on our health. Unless we know, we don't know that many of the foods we like, love and crave might be putting us at great risk for strokes. Strokes and their effects are on the increase and have been responsible for deaths, but also for some very permanent and critical changes in the lives of the victims it claims. Chips, pastries, crackers and store bought bakery items are those items that are high in trans fats or in other words bad fats. Hydrogenated oil is not your friend and is used mostly because it helps items to stay fresh. Of course fast food grease is something that is also in this category but most people realize right off the bat that greasy fast foods are not going to help your health.

If you would like to hang on to your health as long as possible, you will need to steer clear of smoked and processed meats. These are stroke and cardiac time bombs that are very damaging to your health. Processed meats are the ones generally sold in and around the deli meats section and include sausages, bacon and hot dogs are just a few of the bad choices consumers make every day. These meats pack a double negative punch to your health. First off they have a very high nitrate content that affect the blood vessels in the body and the sodium content is off the charts, which is just plain crazy to eat.

Of all the items to avoid on the stoke causing food list, without a doubt, diet soda ranks at the top of every researched list of bad foods to consume. The word "diet" is where the confusion starts. Many people think that this has to be more healthier than regular soda, but the facts are that diet soda drinkers are at a 45% higher risk of a stroke than non diet soda drinkers. Most all nutritionists now know that soda, diet or not, should be avoided all together because soda is a stroke stimulator.

Many people enjoy a steak of red meat, and while this is okay every once in a while and always in moderation, it is definitely not recommended to be part of your meal several times a week. Red meat is not good because of the fat content that it contains. To get the maximum benefits for your health and taste buds find that balance that streak would fit into nicely, to avoid a heart attack or stroke.

Prepackaged foods have for the most part taken over the grocery store shelves and is contributing to a major downfall in our society and should be kept to a minimum of consumption. The average household has strayed from the home cooked meals prepared from scratch and are missing the many health benefits that this way form of food preparation offered. Most everything prepackaged, including fruits and vegetables are very void in nutritional value and have an alarming amounts of sodium, calories and additional fats that are very unhealthy and contributes to serious health issues such as strokes and health attacks and a shorten life span. Remember, you are what you eat. If living good, healthy and long is one of your long term goals, you can help your self achieve this goal by avoiding the above items or drastically reduce your intake to improve your chance of avoiding many health issues later in life.
