Football Accumulators Betting

A football accumulator bet is where you bet on 4 or more teams to win. Although hard to predict, accumulators are popular due to the high odds they bring. You may hear stories sometimes about people winning big because all their backings came in. This would have been an accumulator bet. Bookies like this type of bet due to the fact that all the teams on your accumulator have to win for you to win. So say you got 3 predictions correct, that is no use because you must have all 4 to win.

A lot of people place accumulator bets to either win big money from small stakes or just to back several teams that are playing that day to make the matches more fun to watch. As we said above, an accumulator consists of 4 or more teams that have to win. If you are going to bet on an accumulator it is best to stick to the minimum 4 teams because if you add any more, then the odds of you winning get so high that there is no point doing it.

It is quite easy to work out the profit you will get from making an accumulator bet. All you need to do it multiply the odds for each selection together than then multiply your answer by your stake.

So let's make it easy and say that you backed 4 teams to win, who are each 2 to 1.
So 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 16. If we put a £10 stake on this accumulator then it would be £10 x 16 = £160. In real life the odds aren't all going to be the same like 2-1, but you can see what we mean.

If you really want to put a lot of money on an accumulator, use a free bet as if you lose you won't be wasting your money, however if you win your free bet will have proved it's worth.

One final tip: If you ever feel inclined to add an extra selection to your accumulator just because it has good odds and you think it will bump up your winnings, then don't, because if this is the one that loses then you are going to wish you didn't add it.
