You should start working in the Emergency Department if you want to pursue a forensic nursing career since this is where most victims of crime will be at. Emergency Departments are often in huge need of nurses wanting to pursue a career, so be sure to speak with your manager about your interest to pursue this different kind of nursing so that the hospital you work for can assist you on your career path of being a forensic nurse. Many hospitals will sponsor the fees of training for nurses who wants to pursue this different kind of career for nurses because they have such a difficult time hiring qualified nurses that wants this career path. This is a career not for the faint of heart.

You will be of great service to the health care and law enforcement communities, in the event that this is the field that you are choosing to spend your forensic nursing career years.
