Four Steps To Maximize Your Email Marketing Profits

There is an art to setting up and running your email marketing business the right way so you can draw maximum profits from it. Many affiliates just simply create a landing page, forgo split testing and eventually turn their emails they send out into a pitch fest. By avoiding these lazy mistakes and sticking to the following four steps, you'll be ahead of 90% of your competitors.

Step One - Create and Optimize Your Landing Page

First you want to create a good basic landing page, with the opt in box above the fold and a bulleted list of benefits, and then optimize it after it is up. Split test the various components and make sure you are maintain a good opt in rate. If you can get your landing page to where it converts twice as well as it did initially, this could translate into a two-fold increase in profits down the road, so this is an important step.

Step Two - Redirect Them to the Offer

While you have their attention and they are interested in getting more information at that particular moment during the opt in process, now is a good time to pitch them an offer. After they enter their name and email to opt in, redirect them to an offer, whether it is one of your own offers, an affiliate product or a CPA offer. When pitching the offer on the redirect, use a soft tone - you don't want to turn anyone off by hard-selling.

Step Three - Give Value, Build Trust, Pitch Occasionally

Since you've put a lot of effort into creating a good landing page that converts well, you don't want to lose a lot people on your list due to lack of trust. So at least 75% of the time when you are communicating with them you should be providing them with good value. The remaining time you can recommend good affiliate products that will help solve their problems.

Step Four - Cross Selling and List Segmenting

This step is where you can really separate yourselves from other marketers. You can cross sell them on related products, or create even new lists and send your visitors to those opt in pages. For example if you have a weight loss list, some of your male visitors may also be interested in muscle building. Rather than pitching your whole weight lost list a muscle building product, gently send them to an opt in page with a muscle building freebie. By targeted and segmenting your marketing, you will maintain your trust and reduce unsubscribes.

By following the above four steps, you can be sure that you will profit much more than your competitors who do email marketing the easy and lazy way.
