Francesca Hits The City
I love this city. I fell in love with it all again since coming home after fleeing to London then Spain when I was 21. Coming back, Manchester had come alive with a vibrancy I’d never seen here before and I knew I was home. I don’t even really mind the greyness. I think we’ve all learnt to cope with the drizzle getting us wetter than a downpour. I suppose it helps that I’m old enough now to appreciate what matters in life, although I do define my age by knowing it’s getting time for Botox but that I’m not old enough to panic about not being married. Not that I think I ever would, I’m just not that traditional. There’s been somewhat of a shift in my lifestyle. Long gone are the days of all-night partying in Manchester clubs and getting dressed in the car park for work the next day; now I’m actually looking forward to the start of X Factor so that I have an excuse to stay in on a Saturday night. That’s why I planned to go to V Festival this year and embrace my lifestyle of old; I was determined to wear hot pants short enough to be a disgrace until I got the mother of all colds and was resigned to bed, watching X Factor. Typical. So that’s me. I’m clumsy, I laugh a lot at things I probably shouldn’t. I like getting things for free and generally love a blag of any kind and I’m going to be letting you in on what’s on in Manchester as well as Manchester’s many random attractions that I see on my travels around this amazing city we all call home… See you next month.
