French Jobs Are Being Hit Hard

With France now being military ally with UK, what is in store for French jobs? Will more jobs become available because of the recent formation, or will there be less due to on going cuts? We shall see. Let’s just hope that it does not adversely effect either country. This sort of union has not happened in the past and such a tight net military alliance can go one way or another.
Large corporations such as HSBC are cutting jobs in France with nearly 700 cuts. This may not sound like a lot of cuts, but if this is a trend within the top 100 companies this would equate to a downturn with only one option, to go the way of the fax.

On a lighter note a French business women has captured IMF’s top job as Christine Lagarde who is the French Finance Minister gathers the position. This is great for France as the IMF’s main decision maker will be a French woman. No doubt we can do away with biases, but this writer is pretty confident that the French will benefit more as a whole than any other country in Europe.

The Government in France is to reduce VAT which will open a gateway of more than 200,000 jobs to the hospitality industry. With this being such a large shift, and such a significant decision, this could turn France’s main source of import / export from services to tourism. The country already has a large tourism trade with many westerners visiting the most idyllic regions such as the Dordogne and Provence.

More jobs could be available in France as the dwindling import / export business could potentially rise with an 18% increase in goods coming from Ireland.

Franceis also on the up due to a deal that was signed which could be potentially worth £71 million as the president of France signs a deal with Gabon to extend the power network to 110 villages in France.

Overall the job market is similar to any other country facing the ongoing downturn. French jobs cannot falter for much longer, and stories of a double dip may be unfounded. As we move closer to 2012 more French jobs are being created, but more being taken away. As Europe builds on its existing relationships and endeavors to help countries suffering the worst, continue to increase, 2012 should be a different story altogether, with total recovery by 2025.
