Frontline medicine is the most well known of the medications available for Dogs or Cats. It is quick and effective and lasts for at least a month. What it does is kill ticks and fleas but it also does other things as well.
Frontline, as well as killing fleas, ensures that they don't return for at least a month but quite often for much longer. It does this by also destroying eggs and larva. When adult female fleas have sucked blood they are then able to lay eggs. Many of these eggs will get caught in the animals fur and some will get on the bedding. This could lead to a never ending cycle of the fleas returning.
The frontline can break this cycle. As well as destroying a large number of these young fleas any that grow will also be killed by the frontline. This is a very effective way of breaking the cycle. If we don't break this cycle then it can be a never ending problem. We do not want to always be applying the frontline and this will help break this horrible cycle. The medication should be effective for at least a month but usually it works for at least six weeks and often longer than this.
Ensure that you clean all bedding and vacuum thoroughly. This will help tremendously with getting rid of any eggs or larva that are remaining in the house. Remember to get rid of the vacuum bag straight away as you do not wan them living in the house. This will help the frontline medicine be as effective as it possibly can.
