Gathering Of The Juggalos Lineup 2011

Chart Toppers of the Past at Gathering of the Juggalos 2011

Will any of these four ex-superstars take home the highly un-coveted Bubba Sparxxx award? After all, none of them fall into the underground rap genre. In all seriousness, however, these artists, including R&B flavored Bobby Brown, are likely to be received with respect from Juggalos due to their upstanding reputations and longevity within the music industry.

Underground rappers Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope of the Insane Clown Posse have acknowledged that Bobby Brown and George Clinton’s styles don’t necessarily fit within the traditional underground sound the festival is known for. Though if the acts are well received, both Insane Clown Posse members, underground rappers in their own right, hope Bobby Brown and George Clinton will act as a bridge for more R&B oriented artists to perform at Gathering of the Juggalos in the future.

In fact, Bobby Brown is being given his very own stage, and is the only person performing on it during the entire festival. That way no die-hard underground rap fans who wouldn’t be keen on Bobby Brown’s sound will be pinned down at that stage while waiting for the next act to come on. If any of said underground rap fans do try to boo Bobby Brown, they’re going to need to miss another act to do so.

While you won’t see Bobby Brown, George Clinton, or any of the new, non-underground rappers donning the trademark Juggalo paint, at least they’ll actually be rapping or singing (and not lip synching like Tila Tequila). Oh, and even if things do go wrong, chances are neither Bobby Brown nor George Clinton will be removing their tops to win back the crowd.

Remember, Vanilla Ice won Juggalos over at his Gathering performances through straight shooting, authentic performances. If Bobby Brown and George Clinton can do the same thing, they’ll be welcomed in the Juggalo and underground rap world for many years to come.

Underground Rappers at Gathering of the Juggalos 2011

Enough with the big guys. As always, the majority of the festival’s lineup will be made up of underground rappers and horrorcore artists that sound nothing like Bobby Brown. They include but are not limited to Twiztid, King Gordy, Prozak, Hopsin, Tech N9NE, and more. In that mix are some Gathering of the Juggalos first timers and others like underground rapper Tech N9NE who’ve been down with the clown for years.

Is this lineup underground rap enough for you or did they go too heavy on the ‘90s rappers this year? Would you appreciate seeing more genre diversity outside the underground rap genre at the music festival in the future? Or do you already have plans to make sure Bobby Brown knows he’s unwelcome?

The annual Gathering of the Juggalos music festival features underground rap acts both big and small, and rarely any music that could be categorized as pop.
