Gears Of War 3 Vs Resistance 3
Gears of War 3 Marcus Fenix returns in the third installment of this story telling masterpiece. Sure, some of the game mechanics from the previous iterations weren't so clean, but they weren't unplayable. As the final chapter in a franchise developed exclusively for the Xbox360, Gears of War is finally coming to a close. One of the biggest changes in the game is the inclusion of three playable female characters. Epic Games seems to have found a need to bridge the gap between male players and female players, which will only expand its player base. Multiplayer also seems to be getting a few improvements, including a new “beast” mode, which makes “horde” mode look weak by comparison. Gamers all over have been clamoring for a game that would provide 4-player co-op, and Epic is inclined to make this a reality. I remember playing 2-player co-op with my brother late at night, and the ability to invite other friends into the mix, will make finishing the game all that much sweeter. Epic has been fairly quiet on other changes for multiplayer, but from all the videos available, it looks to be the best yet. Resistance 3 As alternate universes go, Resistance 3 is bound to be one entertaining ride. Also a sequel to a successful launch title exclusive to the PlayStation 3, Resistance 3 is shaping up to be one of the top 10 games of the year. Not much has changed from previous versions of the game, with the exception of the availability of 3D. Also a feature removed from Resistance 2 will make its return in the form of the weapon wheel and health bar. Multiplayer will include 16-player modes, which will include deathmatch, capture the flag, and many other standard modes. There has also been mention that none of the multiplayer maps will be located in the United States. In my opinion, this could be a mistake, as people do like to feel like they are defending their own turf. It is difficult to explain here, but other games that have been released recently, give that feeling of self defense, and in some instances can make the game that much better. Complaints aside, Resistance 3 will hold its own in a year where the number 3 is so prevalent. Aliens With such a broad amount of games coming out this fall, it might have been the wisest decision of publishers to release these two games in September. Both are sitting high on their pedestals, and are poised to capture a good portion of the gaming community. At least until fall when other anticipated games are due to be released. So, pick your console, pick your game, and destroy those aliens. You never know when we'll be invaded for real!
