General Information On Wall Plates

Gone are the days when the only option is to leave wires on the floor. Wire clutter can be prevented by installing cables inside walls. This can be made possible using HDMI wall plates. Running cables behind walls can be a tough job, sometimes left for professionals to do. This will keep wire clutter from forming unsightly scene on the floor. Also, in-wall cable installations keep your home safer for kids and even for you. Wall plates are good for whatever cables you are using. They mainly support HDMI cables for speakers and audio/video devices.

Installation

The HDMI wall plate is installed on the wall in the same fashion as electrical wall sockets are installed. The cables are attached to the wall plate and run behind the wall where they run to another wall plate. For example, you have speakers and an audio source. You need two wall plates; one is near the speakers and the other is near the audio source. With this type of installation, you can connect the speakers to the audio device without seeing the cables on the floor. There are wall plates with multiple connectors to allow various cables to be fished through the wall.

Wall Plates for Home Theater

There are different types of wall plates but the most common types are those used for home theater installations. Home theater systems require several cables. Without proper installation, these cables can form an awful clutter on the floor. The only way to come up with an orderly set of cables is to fish them through the wall with the aid of HDMI wall plates.

Imagine not using wall plates and not going through in-wall cable installation. This could lead to trouble in wiring. If you only have two speakers, there would not much problem. But home theater typically uses a seven-speaker surround system. Since each speaker has two connections, that means 14 speaker cables in all. That is an awful lot of wires. Wall plates for home surround theater systems are designed to accommodate several cables.

Wall Plates for Televisions

Wall plates come in several types to allow in-wall installations of different kinds of cables. This means you can keep all sorts of cables behind walls. There are wall plates that support cables for LCD/LED TV, DVD players, Blu-Ray players, and game consoles. Those with many devices at home can take the advantage of using wall plates to avoid awful cable clutter. HDMI cables and wall plates would be most appropriate if you have a new HDTV. The problem is a lot of people do not know about HDMI cables or wall plates. Thus, they have flat screen televisions, Blu-Ray players, surround speakers, and game consoles, but they have no idea how to fix the wire clutter problem.

Cost Issue

Well, home theater systems are really not your average home entertainment systems. If you can afford such systems, you probably have to invest in high quality cables and wall plates. An expensive home theater system will not look quite appealing if cables are not set up properly. Then again, if you have high definition devices, it is recommended that you invest in HDMI cables and wall plates.
