Georgia Junk Yards Offer Quality Used Parts
By adapting the latest in computer software, parts are now removed from vehicles and placed into a direct access inventory system. With this technology, consumers and other salvage yards alike are able to find parts in just matter of minutes. Even mechanics and repair shops are beginning to see the value of using this system to locate quality used parts for their customers. When you consider how much dealerships normally charge for new parts, the value of used parts becomes immediately apparent. Many times, used parts can save the consumer as much as 75% of what the same part would cost to buy new. Everyone can feel good about that savings. In addition to saving money, the junk yards of Georgia are now working hard to save the environment as well. The new terminology for junk yards is auto recycler and the new name reflects accurately reflects what this industry has become. Junk yards have truly become recyclers. When a car is no longer operable, either because it has sustained a mechanic failure or been involved in a collision that renders the vehicle to costly to repair, today the vehicle owner or insurance company can recover some of that loss by selling the vehicle to an auto recycler. Rather than clog streets, neighborhoods and landfills with abandoned vehicles, auto recyclers purchase these automobiles and begin the process of recycling up to 99% of the car. Once it has been purchased from a salvage auction or individual, the vehicle is brought into the auto recycler where a thorough removal of any hazardous wastes begins. Only when these hazardous materials are safely recovered and disposed of does the act of dismantling begin. Any used parts that are in good condition are taken off the vehicle and inventoried into a computer system. The leftover metal frame of the car is then crushed or shredded and the remaining metal is then sold back to various vendors and used create more vehicles. It has been estimated that this process has resulted in enough recovered steel to make 13 million new cars and trucks. This tremendous effort to recover the metal from salvage vehicles allows us to preserve many of our precious non-renewable deposits of iron and aluminum. This reuse of parts also saves huge amounts of energy that are required to make new parts. Georgia auto recyclers are concerned about the environment in the state of Georgia because they live and work here too. Utilizing quality used parts that can be found at these salvage yards is a great way to not only save money but also helps keep Georgia the beautiful state that is today.
