Get Ready For Sucker Punch

Retreating to an alternative reality like a coping strategy, she envisions a plan which will help her escape in the facility. Why it should be good: Really hot and badass chicks wearing schoolgirl outfits and other skimpy clothes, with swords and guns, in conjunction with Snyder's awesome visual flair? Yea, definitely count me in. A clip for this thing just looks completely awesome. From the style towards the action, the story (while seeming a little available) seems cool. I'm starting to thoroughly enjoy Snyder's work. If The Adjustment Bureau could be this year's new Inception due to its mindfuck story, then Sucker Punch could absolutely be the 2010 Inception meets Children of men meets 300 meets Inglorious Basterds because of it's style and epic adventure, yet dark tone with alternate realities. This movie just oozes style and badass-ness and that i really can't watch for what's certain to be a truly entertaining, epic adventure. Why it might suck: Snyder can be a bit off his mark sometimes. While Watchmen was enjoyable, it did obtain a bit boring. And Legend of the Guardians has been said to be affected by some pacing issues as well and it has drawn mixed reviews from critics. Though to become fair to Snyder, he wrote neither of those movies, but accounts for the writing (or at best screenplay) of the badass 300. Plot:Set within the dreary, CG-heightened 1950s, Sucker Punch is about a new female protagonist named Babydoll (Emily Browning, who replaced Amanda Seyfried in the role) who retreats into a fantasy globe to escape hard truth: that in only days, her evil stepdad will have her lobotomized. In line with the trailer, Babydoll's "real" planet is really a dark and gloomy mental hospital in Brattleboro, Vermont, in which a Polish-accented Carla Gugino tells her in voice-over that she can escape into her fantasy world. "What you're imagining right now," she purrs, "that location can be as genuine as any pain." With Gugino's encouragement, Babydoll plans to escape -- and he or she will take her hot fellow mentally insane patients (Abbie Cornish, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens) with her into... ... a fantasy globe the location where the girls, interrupted live in a brothel as glamorous burlesque performers. You'd believe wouldn't be so negative, however they apparently should leave this fabulous brothel place to complete numerous action movie tasks, equipped with huge guns, B-52 bombers, fighting styles abilities, samurai swords, and knives as sharp as their skirts are short. Through a number of tasked challenges, this rock band of deadly young women will ostensibly earn some type of "freedom" -- and we the audience will be on the receiving end of some cinematic sucker punch we never saw coming. Somewhere in all of this awesomeness, you will have musical numbers. Elaborate, glitzy, cabaret-style musical numbers serving up song and dance alongside everything motion and killing. Stylized trench warfare and burlesque -- two excellent tastes that taste fantastic together? .
