Getting Rid Of Blackheads

When it comes to acne in general and blackheads in particular, there are a few fortunate souls who haven’t had to deal with the embarrassment and anxiety of
these types of acne breakouts. But for the rest of us, that isn’t the case. Most of us have had to battle acne at least through our teenage years. And a lot of the time, acne won.

So if you want to win your battle against blackheads, you need to understand just what causes acne and how you can treat it and prevent it.

Acne is caused by clogged pores. Our pores become clogged with a mixture of oil, dead skin cells, and dirt. The oil acts as the glue for these plugs because our sebaceous oil glands over-produce it at times in our lives – usually our teenage years. When that happens and our pores become clogged, bacteria can thrive causing inflammation and ultimately whiteheads, blackheads, and even cysts.

For this reason, it’s important to keep your acne-prone skin areas clean and unclogged. A daily regimen of washing and exfoliating your skin to remove dead
skin cells and excess oil is a must. Products using salicylic acid or beta hydroxyl acid (BHA) are particularly good at removing skin cells and excess oil.

Managing your acne and getting rid of blackheads demands your time and energy. No matter what treatment you settle on to deal with your breakouts, it will only be successful if you begin with a thorough cleansing. Don’t give up; it takes weeks to turn the tide in your favor. If you stick with it though, you’ll be successful.
