Getting What You Want Online
I ask singles this all of the time,”if you do not know what you want, how will you know if you have or have not found it?” They look at me as if they are watching paint dry! The blankest expression you could possibly imagine! I think we should take finding someone online more seriously. Write down what the relationship “must have”. These are the items that will not bend...there is absolutely no compromise on this list. Personally, height is a must have for me. I’m 6’ tall and I usually wear heels. I don’t like looking down...all night! Then there is our list of “options”. These are things we would like to have, but we can live without them. Please do not confuse the two lists...if you do, you will have an absolute mess on your hands! And you will be no where near getting what you want online! Do not let anyone talk you out of your choices, just because they do not fit the bill. It will waste your time. Be fair. Let someone know from the beginning what you are looking for. Don’t use your “must haves” later on as an excuse to get rid of someone! Once you have your two lists, you are ready to go forward. Evaluate everyone you meet online. Please do not communicate with someone that does not fit your “must haves” list just to kill time, or until someone “better” comes along. That is not fair...cut them loose and give them the opportunity to find what they want online. Just remember, when it comes to online dating, you must approach it with a well thought out plan.
