In today’s hectic and busy life, it’s very important to maintain a healthy lifestyle. It’s also difficult to maintain a strict exercise regime that will help lose weight and keep one in shape. There are a variety of weight loss programs available these days but the key lies in selecting the one which fits you best. Obesity is a common growing lifestyle disease in today’s times. One can see plenty of young children who are overweight and unhealthy due to unhealthy eating and drinking habits.


Getting in shape is a dream for many people these days and this craze is common in most teens and young adults who idolise models and actors and want physiques and figures like them. But it’s not an easy task to gain fitness and stay in shape. The goal should not be short term weight loss program but to maintain a healthy lifestyle for longer periods of time. Some tips to lose weight effectively are as follows:

• Learn to read and understand food labels carefully and intelligently, as that will help you count calories and plan a weight loss program.
• Eat more whole grains, fruits and vegetables as they improve health, enable weight reduction and reduce risk of diseases.
• Don’t starve or fast as that will reduce the essential elements needed by the body, instead eat small portions at small intervals to get back in shape
• Drink lots of water as it keeps the body hydrated and increases general well- being leading to fitness and good health
• Exercise regularly to burn excess body fat and also because its not possible to only depend on food habits for weight loss
• Another important tip is to control the portion size of your servings, it may seem like a headache every time but really helps in the long run and reduces guilt also
• Keep a food diary and note down how much and when and what you eat. Analyse weekly and you will be able to get a good picture of how well you are doing
