Gifting Lebanese Sweets

Lebanese sweets are the gift of choice on many occasions, especially dinner parties, graduation celebrations, and holiday gatherings. This article shows which type of them is the preferred gift depending on the type of occasion.

Lebanese sweets fall under the larger category of Arabic sweets, which are also known as Middle Eastern sweets, Mediterranean sweets, and Oriental sweets. Even though Arabic sweets are manufactured and consumed all over the Arab and Middle Eastern world, Lebanon is known to be the pioneer in Arabic sweets manufacturing. Thus, they have acquired a large base of fans all over the Middle East. In Lebanon, these confections manufacturers can be found almost at every corner.

Whether you are invited to a lunch or dinner party, to a gathering, or to any party where dessert is served, a gift box of Baklava and Mamoul is very well appreciated.

These sweets form three major classes: Assorted baklava which is a collection of nuts filled pastry, Mamoul which is a variety of nuts filled cookies, and cream and cheese filled sweets. Each of these types of sweets is the preferred gift in different occasions.

The first and most desired category, assorted baklava is usually gifted when invited to a lunch or dinner party. It is also the gift of choice on many occasions and celebrations such as graduation parties and New Year celebrations.
On the other hand, Mamoul on the other hand is mostly gifted during holidays such as Eid El Fits, Eid El Adha, Christmas, and Easter.
Finally, cream and cheese filled sweets are usually gifted and consumed in abundance during the month of Ramadan.

A delicious box of assorted Lebanese sweets forms a great gift because of the large variety of sweets it presents. The different types present different levels of sweetness such that each person in a gathering can satisfy his sweet tooth.
