Give Groceries As A House Warming Gift

My best friend from college just bought her first house with her husband. Unfortunately the happy couple moved out of the state. Her husband got a job offer in Michigan and so that is where they bought their house. I am happy for her, of course, but this is my best friend I am saying goodbye to! She is going to be basing her life out there and building a family hundreds of miles away from me! Anyway, I was clearly unable to attend a house warming get together. She has always been the kind of girl who has every little knick-knack you could possibly imagine so I didn’t want to get her anything else to add to her cluster.

I decided to stock her fridgerator as a house-warming gift. Who could be unhappy with that for a surprise? No I didn’t tell her to send me her grocery bill. I went online and ordered her groceries through a grocery delivery business. There are ones available that ship nationwide. I called her up and asked her what her plans were for the next day and she told me she had the cable guy coming over between two and four. How perfect was that? I ordered next day delivery and sent them to her house in that same tie slot. I got a phone call from her at 2:45 frantically thanking me for the gift. She was so busy unpacking and settling in she hadn’t even found the time to make it to the store. I’m glad I found a gift she enjoyed. I’m just going to miss her a lot.
