Go For The Goal!

In many ways the task of setting and accomplishing personal goals is like competing in a game.

In this game you set the rules and you compete against yourself.

So now ask yourself, if you get to make all of the rules and you are competing against yourself, shouldn’t you always win the game?

Shouldn’t you always be victorious and accomplish all of your goals?

Shouldn’t you have the perfect relationship, a satisfying career, and financial freedom?

If your answer to this question is no…then perhaps you could benefit from a little coaching.

The truth of the matter is that when it comes to being truly successful we all could benefit from guidance from someone who has specific knowledge of the areas in which we are trying to excel.

When setting goals it is very important to “know what you don’t know.”

Once you have identified what you don’t know you will be able to make intelligent choices about where you should go to seek help with accomplishing a specific goal.

The best way to ensure success when starting something new is to learn from someone who is already doing what you want to do!

Team up with a coach, friend, mentor, or acquaintance and ask them to share their knowledge with you.

Most people like talking about their hobbies or accomplishments and they will be more than happy to share information with you.

Coaches are not only a good source of information, but they can provide inspiration and motivation as well.

After you have decided upon one and only one area in which you need to improve, you must brainstorm and come up with activities that will support your new habit and help you to accomplish your goal.

You must then use all of your resources to come up with empowerment activities.

Use your own ideas, research and study information on-line, read books, and talk to people who are knowledgeable in your particular subject.

Coaches come in all shapes, sizes, ages, genders, and nationalities and they come from diverse backgrounds.

I consult my Personal Life Coach on a regular basis and she always has valuable information that I can put to use either in the present or perhaps in the future.

Coaches can help by:

1. Seeing things about your opponent that you do not

2. Seeing things about yourself that you were unaware of

3. Providing focus and keeping you on the right track

Whenever I need to accomplish a goal or deal with a specific situation, I always seek advice from someone who is knowledgeable in that particular subject. I do this because I want accurate, reliable information and I need it in a timely manner.

Oftentimes I find that people try to achieve goals on their own and then after they have failed, they seek advice. This is putting the cart before the horse literally.

Let’s face it, your time is very valuable and you should not waste it trying to figure out what someone else already knows and is willing to share with you.

When it comes to going for the goal, the idea is to get it right the first time if possible so that you can move on to accomplishing other important things in your life.

Be Present...Take Action...Be Exceptional!
