Many retailers give out samples of food products to encourage you to try them. This is a good way to sample goat cheese without buying it to see if you like it or not.

This type of cheese is easier for the body to digest so those who have troubles when they eat cheese made from cow’s milk will find it a nice change. The difference in the taste and the digestion process has to do with the fatty acids in the goat milk. As the cheese ages it develops a very tangy flavor.

Goat cheese can be found in a variety of deli’s, health food stores, and grocery stores. You may find the price of goat cheese changes with the seasons. This is because goats have a change in the production of their milk. In the spring and fall they produce the most milk so there is plenty of it. In the winter months they produce less milk resulting in less supply for the demand. This leads to the higher prices.

In general, goat cheese is more expensive that other cheese products that are made from the milk of cows. You have to be careful with goat cheese as well because it is more perishable than cheese made from cow milk. You need to refrigerate it upon purchasing it and eat it within a few days.
