Godiva Chocolate Vs. Zchocolat; Which One Is Better
Godiva Chocolate is a company that manufactures premium chocolate and chocolate-related products. It was founded in Brussels, Belgium in 1926 by chocolatier Joseph Draps. Godiva Chocolate products first reached the United States in 1966 when they were sold in upscale department stores. It would be another six years before the first US Godiva Chocolate store appeared in New York City. Today Godiva Chocolate has more than 450 stores all over the globe. Godiva Chocolate continues to sell its products in luxury department stores as well as maintaining a catalog/mail order business. zChocolat was founded in 1999 by Jean-Philippe Khodara. It all started when he and his wife Valerie realized that the internet provided them a perfect opportunity to share their love of supreme quality, hand-made French chocolates with the entire world. They realized that giving access to the best chocolate in the world was only the beginning; from the outset they strove to further distinguish themselves with uncommonly responsive and personal customer service and provide unique packaging with peerless gift customisation. The Godiva Chocolate website states that two methods are used to manufacture their products; shell-moulding and enrobing. Shell-moulding begins with a mould that has several cavities. Each cavity is filled with melted chocolate. The mould is inverted and most of the chocolate runs out. It is then cooled, which solidifies the remaining chocolate, forming a "shell." The shell is filled with a center, allowing enough space for a thin layer of melted chocolate to be layered over the filling. After cooling, the chocolates are released from the mould. Enrobing involves coating a formed center with smooth, melted chocolate. This is a typical European method; this is how the majority of Godiva Chocolate candies are made. Godiva Chocolate candies are made from high quality ingredients. The bittersweet and milk chocolate come from high flavor cocoa beans. Grade A butter and heavy cream, rarely found in U. S. chocolate products, are used extensively in Godiva Chocolate. Compare this with zChocolat. Like Godiva Chocolate, zChocolat uses enrobing to create their candies. Like Godiva Chocolate, zChocolat uses high quality ingredients in their products. But, unlike Godiva Chocolate, each and every piece of chocolate from zChocolat is the personal creation of Pascal Caffet, who is universally considered to be the greatest chocolatier in the world. Pascal takes pride in handpicking his raw materials and believes that premium ingredients are key to creating the finest chocolates. He uses absolutely no preservatives and no fat other than pure cocoa butter. It is no wonder that by the time Pascal turned 27, he became the youngest Meilleur Ouvrier de France in his profession. Shortly thereafter, he won the Gold Medal at the Chocolate World Championship in Milan, Italy. As you can see, both zChocolat and Godiva Chocolate make some of the best chocolate in the world. Please don't get me wrong, Godiva Chocolate is absolutely delightful. But if you are looking for exquisite, delicious chocolate, I recommend zChocolat.
