The GolfLogix GPS is one of a few GPS systems available in the market for guiding you on the golf course. The GolfLogix GPS8 guides you on the course for a better and more rewarding playing experience. So can you Bid goodbye to the yardage guessing games on the golf course and the long walks around the golf course to find out the water hazards and the sand traps? Can you finally get to grips with choosing the right clubs for the right shot? Golflogix gives accurate information in terms of distance and you can load hundreds of golf course maps onto this small handheld device. But as with all of your other possessions, you must take care of the device too. A few precautions should see it last much longer than your expectations. The unit is powered by 2 AA batteries. But as with all the other GPS devices, it consumes a lot of power, so make sure that you use only the best quality batteries. Also, Make sure that you turn off your unit after you have finished playing so that the battery lasts for at least 4 or 5 rounds. If you have recently purchased the device or are planning to use it for the first time, make sure that you get it registered. For this you’ll need to connect it with an internet enabled PC through a USB cable supplied with it. Further instructions and software is available at the golflogix website. One piece of software available is called GolfLogix Course Manager. You can buy this software for an annual fee of $29.95 and then download as many golf courses as you want. As a trial you can download your first golf course map for free. In case the map for the golf course which you want is unavailable, you can request it and the GolfLogix team will upload it at the earliest opportunity. There have been occasions when such requests have been met with in less than 10 days. Also, turn on your GolfLogix at least 10-15 minutes prior to playing so that the satellite and the unit connections can be properly established for accurate data. After the connection has been established, you don’t need to do much because the satellite will automatically detect which golf course you are on and similarly the relevant data will be available on the unit. Also, never keep your GolfLogix GPS device in your pocket while playing because it might lead to a signal disconnection. A stable signal reception would take at least 5 minutes thereby halting the game unnecessarily. Also, you can choose whether the distance be displayed in terms of yards or meter, whichever you are comfortable with. There are a lot many other features in the GolfLogix GPS which if used correctly can help to give you a much better and enjoyable playing experience.
