Good Advice On Buying Presents
We are bombarded daily with tv, radio, and magazine ads all advertising hundreds of products so finding the right gift is not easy but there are a few basic rules to follow to make it not only easy for you but an enjoyable experience. You are buying a gift that someone will love and the look on their face when they open it is worth the effort that you take to buy that special present. When gift or present buying it matters who you are buying for, their age, for what occasion but you should always follow a few simple rules that apply to all: 1 Plan well ahead of the present giving date. Always have birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, parties calendar dated, from year to year, and also a date for shopping put into your diary 2-3 weeks in advance. 2 Have an idea of the person’s likes and dislikes. This can be done very subtly and will help you narrow down gift ideas. 3 It is always important to buy something personal; that is, something that you know they will like and that is special to them. Do not buy something general that anyone could buy and that would suit anyone. Taking time to think about what they would like shows them that you have taken time in your gift selection and they will love it all the more. I f you are buying for a couple a good idea is rather than buy a present for each of them buy something that they can both share and enjoy – an overnight stay away from home, an afternoon at a spa for both. Many of these types of gifts are open-ended and they can pick where and when they want to go. 4 The value of the gift is really secondary to the gift. Most of us live in a society where more is regarded as best; however, this is not always the case. The opposite also is not true but you need to find a happy medium. Decide how much to budget for and stick with it. The fun is in the giving and receiving not in how much you have spent or anyone else has spent! 5 Finally make sure that your gift is beautifully wrapped and labelled with a personal message. How your present looks and first impressions are, as always, very important. Finally, part of successful gift buying is not just the one off occasion that is forgotten once done, but should also include a review after the present has been given. This is not an arduous task but you should always note what you have bought, for whom and when, their reaction ..... To help you do this you should invest in or keep a gift book/diary in which you record all the important details so that next time or next year you can check all your information about someone and the gifts that you have previously bought them. There is nothing worse than buying someone the same or similar present as before. Follow these few simple guidelines to gift buying and make it a satisfying one for you and an enjoyable one for your gift receiver.
