Google Chrome Web Browser Review

Nowadays, people use the internet not just to view webpages but to send emails, watch videos, play web-based games and chat with relatives from another country. In doing these, we make use of what is technically called as Web Browsers. Today, the widely used web browsers are Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, each of them is releasing latest versions every now and then.

In relation to the increasing applications that people use on a daily basis, the web browsers we use today were not built on the purpose of serving heavily on these high-end applications.

“Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier”

Chrome started from scratch and is primarily motivated to suit the needs of today’s web applications and today’s users. Speed, stability and security are the key features of the new web browser developed by Google.

In terms of stability, it has a Task Manager wherein you can view which sites are using the most memory, downloading the most bytes and abusing your CPU. You can also view which plug-ins are to blame for the slowdown of your browser.

It secures you from phishing and malware by periodically downloading updates. It warns you if you are about to enter a harmful website.

It provides non-hassle web browsing on separate tabs within a window. A single tab is a separate process, thus, when it crashes down, the other tabs are not affected. For example, if you are streaming a Youtube video on a tab and an Online Game on another tab, your game won’t terminate or hang up if ever the Youtube crashes down and vice versa.

Physically, Google Chrome uses cool colors that won’t stress your eyes after a long duration of surfing the internet. It displays the frequently used buttons like Back, Refresh and Forward. Whenever you want to search for a specific topic, just type your keywords in the URL bar (yes, the URL bar!) and google.com will show you the results.

It is an open source and freeware. You can download it from their website, www.google.com/chrome.
