Google's Caffeine Project Rolling Out After The Holidays

The Caffeine project will roll out a small portion, one data center, prior to the holidays, but most of the remaining part will take place after the holidays. Google knows how anxious webmasters can get during the holidays as they vie for top rankings in the search engines. One data center will roll out the new Caffeine technology prior to the holidays mainly to collect data and to continue getting feedback. However, the major transition of other data centers is going to happen after the holidays. Webmasters can rest a bit and concentrate on their holiday sales.

Most of the testers who utilized the now closed Caffeine sandbox, said they noticed an increase in speed. They also noticed that Caffeine utilizes real-time search. The real-time search is probably due to the fact that Google is partnering with Twitter to allow real-time search of Twitter postings especially when it comes to real news and real incidents occurring that people are tweeting about at that moment.

As Google rolls out Caffeine, webmasters can tweak and adapt the way they obtain their search engine rankings to try and stay ahead of the game. It's noted that Caffeine seems to pay more attention to exact domain name matches and similar, related words based on the search words. Luckily for webmasters, Google is waiting until after the holidays for their complete rollout. It should be interesting.
