Green Real Estate Grants

Green real estate refers to a program that seeks to protect the environment. This is done through promotion of renovation of existing buildings that are not so environment-friendly. The program works through funding organizations that are environment-oriented. Therefore, any of the organizations that are requesting funding must have a solid plan describing just how they will be able to conserve the environment; through replacement of non-compliant buildings. The program is governed by a number of rules and regulations that must be strictly adhered to by all who wish to participate in this field.

The applicants must be able to fully demonstrate how they will proceed in achieving the goals outlined in their plan of action. Each and every one of the elements must be included in the document they present to the board of the program; clearly listing the research findings that led to the proposal and a case study to support the findings. The consultation meeting that culminates with an agreement on the proposal must be documented; along with any of the expenses that were incurred in the whole process.

In addition, the green real estate program will seek to determine exactly how the applicant will gather, condense and deliver any of the material that is to be used for informative purposes. Here, they need to see activities like workshops and seminars being held. Applicants should be made aware that no single component of the proposal will be funded. It is a further requirement that the candidate must represent non-profit based organizations; including cooperatives.

Preference is normally given for projects that have partnered with other agencies, mostly governmental ones. They also need to be able to demonstrate that they are able to implement the green real estate building policies and practices.
