Green Real Estate Programs

The green real estate programs were born out of a need to conserve the environment. They were started in the year two thousand four by some visionaries who saw the need to address the effects of climate change. They were trying to promote improved use of the land for the benefit of everyone. The programs also supported organizations that seek to address climate issues by giving them a grant of not less than forty thousand dollars each year to promote their activities.

The aims of the green real estate programs are many. They include; renovation of old buildings, increasing the use of green building strategies and monitoring any regulatory changes that support the green building practice. Therefore, any group that wishes to apply for a grant should see to it that its goals are well within the goals of this very important structure.

Applicants are also encouraged to develop new, energy efficient renovation strategies that are designed to reduce the environmental impacts resulting from the construction of non-industrial buildings. They must have adequate equipment, design and technology that will enable them to achieve their goals. All of their research activities must also be related to the project. However, if they do not have any research activities, they must have educational projects that are associated with the green movement.

One last requirement is that the applicant must have a plan that captures the structural changes they hope to make on any of the existing buildings; including the sites on which the buildings stand. It is important to note that projects for erecting new buildings are not funded by this program.
