Guy’s Can Create Memorable Kids Crafts For Mother’s Day!

For guys that have a special wife/mother in their life and wants the kids to give her something meaningful without breaking the bank then here are a couple of ideas for you and the kids to do. Going to your local craft store can be overwhelming. Looking for a specific item is next to impossible if you have only been to the mega craft store under twenty times then you will certainly have no idea where items are. But, if you look for a craft picture frame or better ask the closest associate for help finding a frame, I bought mine for $1, some paper, anything decorative and a couple of different size hearts, then you are on your way. Lay your frame on the paper you bought and simply trace & cut out the shape. Glue that cut out piece of paper on before you start the other items as you will be frustrated to go back to the mega store to buy another .99 cent piece of paper to finish your child’s craft if it rips. Use red crayons, markers or paint to color those wood pieces or just leave them natural. Finally, glue the hearts on the frame and you will have a great gift to give mom on her special day.

If you have a few too many picture frames lying around the house then why not try and making a box of chocolates? It is a bit more work but the kid’s just love ripping and gluing the tissue paper. I, or rather the sales associate, found a heart shaped box for $5 in the paper Mache section. I then bought some different colors of tissue paper and some different shape jewels to decorate the outside with. We ripped the tissue paper into a lot of pieces (the kids really got into this part of the project) and glued all of them on the top and sides of the box. A tip for gluing the tissue paper on the box is a mixture of half glue and half water stirred together and applied with a foam paint brush. The kids even made a few hearts out of some leftover craft paper that was lying around to enhance the top of the gift. We did cheat a bit and bought a couple of different chocolates and placed them in some wrappers. But feel free to get some chocolate, melt it and drizzle it on her favorite choice of filling.

Lastly, nothing tops a simple card made by your child. All of the different ideas that they can come up with to put on the card just shows mom how special your little one is and what a fun day this truly can be with a bit of creativity. So make her day special with one of these, or a combination of crafts. You and your kids will be glad you did when her face lights up for her big surprise.
