Health Benefits Of Using Homemade Recipes For Baked Barbeque Chicken

White meat is known to be a healthier option than red meat. The way it is cooked makes all the different, though. The best way to cook white meat, including chicken, is without adding a lot of cooking fat. Cooking fish and chicken at home is one way to enjoy the health benefits of using homemade recipes.

Barbecuing or baking is best, as very little cooking fat is used. This is an ideal way to cook chicken breast, which are quite tender and cook fast. The fact that little or no fat is added is quite healthy. Should you choose to cook baked barbeque chicken, put it on the grill to get those sexy grill marks and then finish it off in the oven. Another way to do this is to use barbeque sauce as an ingredient in a marinade or sauce.

One easy recipe needs only chicken broth and barbeque sauce. Put enough of the broth in a baking dish to cover the bottom of the dish, then put in a pound of skinned chicken halves or breasts. Brush some barbeque sauce on the chicken, then pour in the remaining broth that helps keep the chicken tender. Bake this in an oven heated to 325 degrees for an hour. When done, top with barbeque sauce before serving.

Another recipe is one where chicken breasts are baked for 45 minutes in a 350-degree oven. Mix half a cup of ketchup, a tablespoon each of lemon juice, Worcestershire Sauce and mustard, a quarter cup of water and a half cup of sugar. Pour the mix into a saucepan and bring them to a low boil. Pour over the chicken and return to the oven for 15 minutes before serving.

Use leftover chicken to make healthy sandwiches, to make savory pancake fillers and pies that can be taken to work and school. This provides a great meal that keeps you away from the processed stuff served from machines and many cafeterias. It is a great way to enjoy the benefits of using homemade recipes.
