Healthy Fat Loss - Why Skipping Meals Does Not Lead To Healthy Fat Loss

In today's world, instant gratification seems to be the norm in almost all aspects of our lives. We are often attracted by whatever can satisfy our cravings fast. This is true when it comes to trying to lose unwanted pounds - we would sometimes gravitate towards fad diets that promise instant weight loss, or diet pills that claim to bring results instantly.

What many people do not realize is that a healthy fat loss system is the only one that works to keep those bulges away for good. Fad diets usually do not provide lasting results, because they are either too difficult to follow, or too impractical to integrate into a busy lifestyle. Diet pills can even provide health risks, as these are usually manufactured from ingredients that have very little scientific basis. A healthy fat loss program is one that can be sustained through many years and one that does not require you to skip meals because the daily calorie intake recommended is too unrealistic.

Healthy fat loss does not suggest going on for hours with little or no food, as this can even disrupt the normal body processes because not enough nutrients are provided for normal metabolism. In effect, a starved body will pull from the energy stored in muscles and fat cells. If you are following a diet that requires you to skip meals, you many notice your weight going down, but the downside is you will also feel a loss of vitality. You may also be endangering your internal organs which need a regular supply of nutrients in order to function well.

When it comes to food choices, stick to low calorie, yet filling foods such as whole grains, beans and legumes, fruits and vegetables and protein rich lean meats in small portions. You can create your own healthy weight loss diet which has your favorite foods in manageable servings and with less fat and sugar. It is also important to drink an average of 6-8 glasses of water which not only help clean your body from toxins, but also essential for the digestive process.

A healthy fat loss plan requires changing your food choices as well as a good exercise regimen which can strengthen your muscles and tone your physique. Doing regular cardio exercises can help increase your heart rate, improve your metabolism and make you lose those stubborn pounds. Even daily physical activities such as walking can provide benefits to your heart and can also help you lose extra weight. If you want a more ambitious, yet still healthy fat loss plan, you can integrate into your cardio routines, target exercises for spot toning your problem areas, such as your abs, thighs and buttocks. Just remember that any diet or exercise program has to be followed consistently in order to produce lasting results.
