It is much better to control them from the start than have to go to the considerable expense of treating for adult worms in Dogs. The treatment for this is considerable and your pet will be allowed little to no exercise for weeks after it has been treated. Give a monthly dose to prevent this happening. If mosquitoes are a year round problem then it is advised to treat every month of the year. If they are definitely only a problem for a few months of the year then you can treat for a month either side of the time when they are present.
