Children love to create things with whatever they have. Art, one of the most natural ways of expressing oneself, gives children a very smooth and easy pathway for them to give a physical form to their ideas, emotions and their thoughts. Quite often, you will be taken back by seeing the drawings that have been drawn by your children while they were at school or home. The art shows the feelings and ideas that are hiding deep down within your child. Therefore, it is extremely important that you encourage your child to paint, draw, sculpt or color in any way that they feel like.
Many therapists say that art is one of the best forms of therapy and can help the child to be more open and build more self – confidence. This is more relevant for children who have been victims of physical or mental abuse. Such children are known to be more talented in art.
Art gives children so many chances to fully express their feelings. Children’s drawings have a much more deep meaning than they appear to have. Generally they give a very good view with regard to the strengths, weaknesses and even the emotional state of your child.
If children aren’t given the chance to draw, it would be very unlikely that they would connect properly with other children who are mentally or physically challenged. Art is the best way to interpret anyone’s mind. While children generally find that they are unable to express themselves properly, artwork will enable them to express themselves effectively in proper surroundings.
It has become more and more important that parents realized how important art is in a child’s life. It is so important that children are given exposure to art, which also serves as a great mode of self – expression. Though it might be just an ‘extra’ subject at school, you should encourage your child to take more attention to it.
