Helping Children Overcome Learning Problems Using Early Intervention

Helping children overcome learning difficulties has been one of the greatest thrills of my life, and with early intervention disabilities can be overcome before they seriously affect the child's future.

Diagnosing learning disabilities is a very contentious field, with as lots of opinions as there are so-called experts! Yet for all of us, the chief desire is the same: and we are doing all we can in order to be helping children overcome learning difficulties!

With early intervention disabilities such as dyslexia and other learning difficulties can be completely affected. When looking for or diagnosing learning disabilities it involves to be known that not every kind of learning disability can be cured, but with the correct techniques and early intervention disabilities of a visual character can certainly be treated and most often overcome.

An critical step in diagnosing learning disabilities is to settle on what the principal cause of the disability is. If it is a language based problem, then you should see a speech therapist.

If it is an auditory based problem, then a hearing specialist is in order. If it is behavioral, then you may need to see anyone from a pediatrician to a dietitian, or even a psychologist can give assistance. But for helping children rise above learning disabilities that are visually based, you want to see someone who concentrates on diagnosing learning disabilities that are based around the visual system.

As a Behavioral Optometrist, I think I can play a big function in helping children overcome learning problems if they involve the eyes, visual system or anything to do with visual standpoint (such as visual memory, left best awareness, sequencing, coding, and so on). Once again, with early intervention disabilities can be triumph over using vision therapy, which can educate the suitable skills children want to reach their potential. If we can educate the essential skills in kids, then helping children overcome learning difficulties is easy, since they have the skills to do the job.

So, even as ophthalmologists, pediatricians and other so called experts challenge vision therapy, some of us are fighting back in the best way we recognize how: by helping children overcome learning difficulties. Regardless of what some say, there is a heap of proof supporting vision therapy, but there is some uncertainty even among Optometrists as to the visual basis in diagnosing learning disabilities and their treatment.

With vision therapy, not all therapies are the same. Some techniques are far better than others, and it is the experienced Behavioral Optometrist who can provide the essential early intervention. Disabilities involving the visual system tend to be ones which, with the suitable techniques are straightforward to develop and can have a major bearing in classroom performance. When we train things like eye movements, focus, eye coordination, visualization, left suitable awareness, sequencing, coding, pencil grip and the like, we tend to obtain good results fast. I particular so in my practice, and most teachers in the area refer straight to me, simply for the reason that they have seen the results.

But now, for the first time, we are able to impart the most pioneering home vision therapy program, which has been researched over 20 years in my practice, and honed in refugee schools in the developing world, on a worldwide basis through the internet. Finally, wherever you live, you can impart vision therapy inexpensively, in your own home for your own child. Simple, comprehensive and competently programmed therapies, right to your computer. And the good news is: they really work!

Diagnosing learning disabilities is the simple bit, but really helping children overcome learning difficulties is where the challenge lies. Our therapy program is achievable and successful, and it's even fun, and keep in mind that with early intervention disabilities with reading writing and spelling can be overcome.
